So I spent some time reading an article by Andrew Murray. The topic surrounded the issue of producing fruit in one's life. It emphasized staying connected to the vine and then one will have fruit in their lives but straining and working and stressing over producing the fruit will not bring it about. I really thought about this. How can we make ourselves righteous? Wouldn't that be imitating the Pharisees as they were more concerned with the outside of the cup, that it was clean and shiny for all to see? Am I ever that way? I think about this morning. How awkward I felt. Well it was primarily because of what people 'see.' What does it matter what people see. (not a question) To God we are transparent all the time. There is nothing we can hide from him.
Lord forgive me please for being more aware of people than You.
As I go this week into a new season of now working and rising early in the morning. May I be more concerned about my heart than my clothing. More concerned about my heart than my hair.
Lord make me more aware of you and less aware of me.
